Nigerians Abroad: Villarreal are back in La liga with Ikechukwu Uche as top scorer

The Nigerian striker finished the season as the highest goal scorer for the Yellow Submarines
Ikechukwu Uche with his 14 league goals has powered Villarreal back to La Liga after their ignominious demotion from the top tier last season.
Villarreal defeated Almeria 1-0 on Saturday to confirm their position in second place behind Elche. Uche scored in four successive matches in May to help the former Uefa Champions League semi-finalists make a swift return to the top tier.
Uche scored on May 5 against Elche, another against Alcorcon on May 12, two against Girona on May 18 and his last league goal was against Xerez on May 27.
Another Nigerian striker, Chrisantus Macauley, scored 11 goals in 41 appearances to help Las Palmas qualify for the play-off in which the winner will also be promoted alongside Elche and Villarreal.
Las Palmas will take on Almeria on Wednesday in the one of the two playoff matches with the second leg on Saturday. The other play-off is between Alcorcon and Girona.
